You get a lot of benefit from pyromancies when using this because it speeds up the cast speed of some spells that are otherwise extremely slow such as fire tempest or any of the fireball spells. The reason you wanna put 5 points into dex is to get more cast speed when using spells. Its a good weapon and I consider it a staple when making a quality build.ģrd option: 27/45 stdex or 28/45 dex, and some points into attunement( usually 12, 14, and 16). Murakumo is sort of like the dex version of the typical, big, heavy greatswords that are usually reserved for str builds. Theres also a variation where you go for 28/40 stdex where in this you are able to one hand the murakumo, as the one handed moveset is better than the two handed one. The reason why we stop at 27 instead of 40 is because two handing a weapon multiplies your str stat by 1.5, effectively reaching the soft cap. 40 is the amount of stdex you should go for as the benefit you get from leveling beyond that starts to get lesser and lesser compared to the cost, where it is reccommended to put those points elsewhere, maybe into vit, end, att, or even faith/int for the spells. The versatility a quality build can offer you compared to the other two aforementioned paths is a lot more, and I personally think this should be a go-to build for any new dark souls player to discover their 'sweet spot' with a certain type of weapon, and adjust accordingly wheter or not they wanna go dex-heavy or str-heavy.
